As It Was (From History of the Californian Gold Rush) |

The historical sketch is devoted to the Californian gold rush, which has flashed in the connection with discovering in 1848 gold on the western coast of the USA around of San Francisco. It is shown, as was made this discovering. The main participants of this discovering – D. Marshal and D. Satter are characterized. Their course of life after gold discovering and attempts to defend the rights to gold-bearing lands is shown. The social and psychological phenomenon of a gold rush is characterized. The description of how gold at the initial stage was mine is given. In addition, how gold-bearing sites were legally assigned to gold prospectors is given. Various aspects of life and customs reigning in San-Francisco these years are shown. Geological features of the Californian gold fields are characterized and their mining condition at the contemporaneous moment is shown. The thought that historical experience of mining of gold deposits is very useful to modern gold miners is carried out.
