Universal History Annotation << Back Eulogy Isolationism (the 190th Anniversary of the Monroe Doctrine) Yu.R. Nosov The article is about the history of The Monroe Doctrine (1823), the manifest of the recently established United States of America, the main idea of which was to warn the monarchic Europe against interfering with countries of the Western hemisphere. The background of the doctrine, the part that the leading politicians of that time took in creating of the doctrine, the significance of the doctrine for the Latin America were discussed. The influence that the ideas of the doctrine had on the USA and the world community throughout the years since the moment of declaration to our days was analized.
