Universal History Annotation << Back Prometheus of Europe (to the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Mikhail Aleksandrovich Bakunin) P.V. Ryabov From the practice of philosophy Mikhail Aleksandrovich Bakunin passed to the revolutionary struggle, becoming the most important revolutionary of Europe in the XIX century. He laid the foundations of anarchist philosophy and gave impetus to the development of revolutionary anarchist movement. His personality is the most bright expression of anarchic striving for an absolute liberation of people. In his writings Bakunin gave a detailed criticism of the state’s official religion, state socialism, he has developed the doctrine about the world social revolution. His ideas and personality have had a huge impact on the culture and social movement of two centuries, and now, in the year of the bicentennial anniversary, remain relevant and need to be studied and development.
