Universal History Annotation << Back «Women`s Issues» in Russian Education (Second Half of XIX – Early XX Centuries) R.A. Fando The article describes the history of higher education for women in the Russian Empire, beginning in the second half of XIX century and until 1917 year. Studied different types of educational institutions, created as a result of private and public initiatives, revealed features of their similarities and differences. A special place in the history of the article takes a decision «women`s issues» in public and university structures. Examples of struggle for equality, regardless of gender, to obtain higher education on the part of the women`s movement activists, public fi gures, prominent scientists and thinkers of the XIX century.
