Universal History Annotation << Back SLATE PROBLEM AND POWER DEVELOPMENT KUIBYSHEV AREA IN DAYS OF THE FIRST FIVE-YEARS PERIODS (1928–1942) D.A. Sharonin In article the history of an energy and industrial development of Kuibyshev area in days of the fi rst three fi ve-years periods is considered. The main attention is paid to a problem of use of the local low-grade fuel provided in its territory by large deposits of combustible slates. As a result of attraction of the published and unpublished archive documents a number of conclusions is drawn, main of which is that along with important industrial achievements also some miscalculations have been allowed. Relied by a party management on energy use of slates for the purpose of industrialization of the region so itself I have also not justified.
