Shaozheva Several decades of Communist Party of the Soviet Union was a mighty structure (as it seemed) and was an important political institution. Party policies, goals and objectives were key and determined the main directions of domestic and foreign policy of the USSR throughout its existence. Strong centralization and bureaucratization of the party structures allowed keeping the high status of the Communist Party in the political system of the Soviet society. . Important to examine issues relating to the activities of the Communist Party is to define its institutional forms, for example the Kabardino-Balkarian organization of the Communist Party, which throughout the activities of the party are mutually reinforcing, providing it stable position before a period.The novelty of the research lies in the fact that for the first time, based on a comprehensive study of the size, composition and structure the Kabardino-Balkarian organization of the CPSU, defined the basic institutional form of the Republican organization of the Communist Party. In addition, for these indicators, we can judge the degree of popularity and political significance of the party, which is also important in the study, in the future, the crisis within the Communist Party during the period of perestroika, which led to its collapse.
