Universal History Annotation << Back ON THE CONCEPT OF «CENTURY» IN ARCHEOLOGY Yu.A. Likhter, M.M. Vagabov, Yu.G. Kokorina Abstract: In this article, the authors trace the evolution of the concept of «age» in archeology. This concept is one of the main in archaeological knowledge, so the article discusses its semiotic field and the path from the concepts of ancient authors to the «system of Three Centuries» by K. Thomsen. The latest research of archaeologists questioned the concept of the Danish scientist, and the article proposes a way out of the situation based on the latest works of Russian authors Y.L.
