Savchenko This article is devoted to the analysis of migration processes in the Russian Empire (XVIII–early XX centuries). Object of study: social relations associated with the processes of population migration (external and internal) in the Russian Empire from the beginning of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Subject of study: the norms of national Russian law in the Russian Empire from the beginning of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century, enshrining the principles of legal regulation of legal relations in the field of migration processes; provisions of the Russian legal doctrine in the field of migration law. Objective: from the standpoint of legal methods of studying migration relations, analyze the general characteristics of migration processes in the Russian Empire (XVIII–early XX centuries), as well as their reflection in Russian legal science of that period. This article uses a number of scientific principles: formal-logical; analysis; synthesis; comparative legal; historical; classification; interpolation; extrapolation. Research objectives: 1) to analyze the historical stages of the legal regulation of migration processes in the Russian state; 2) to study the features of the legal regulation of migration processes in the Russian Empire from the beginning of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century; 3) to correlate the content of migration policy with the content of the legal regulation of migration relations in the Russian Empire from the beginning of the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century.
