Universal History Annotation << Back FORMATION OF THE OFFICIAL HISTORICAL PARADIGM OF INDEPENDENT LITHUANIA K.A. Zverev The article examines the development of the historical paradigm of independent Lithuania from the moment of proclamation of independence to the present. With the acquisition of independence, historical assessments of the past became not only an integral part of the political struggle, but also acted as a justifi cation for the internal and external government course. The Lithuanian official historical paradigm has all the features of a well-thought-out and nationally oriented state historical policy, coordinated and directed by the Center for the Study of Genocide and Resistance of the People of Lithuania. The historical paradigm of official Vilnius is based on the litanization of the history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, as well as on the concept of the occupation of the Baltic states, which have a direct impact on the internal, foreign policy development and positioning of the modern Republic of Lithuania. The article was prepared on the basis of the works of domestic, Lithuanian and foreign authors, as well as on the basis of legislative sources and transcripts of the Lithuanian parliament, which are introduced into scientific circulation for the fi rst time.
