Universal History Annotation << Back INTERETHNIC AND INTERFAITH RELATIONS IN THE HISTORY AND POLITICS OF SOME STATES OF THE CARIBBEAN A.A. Slavina The article considers interethnic and interfaith relations in Cuba and Venezuela as a result of the historical development of these countries and their relationship with the former European metropolis Spain and the United States. The author compares the relationship of interethnic, interfaith and international relations between Cuba and Venezuela with a similar relationship in the countries of South-Eastern Europe. It is concluded that attempts by external forces to subordinate certain communities to their influence ultimately unite these communities, reducing existing internal contradictions, but this happens under the condition of a high level of public confi dence in the country’s leadership.
