Universal History Annotation << Back PARTICIPATION OF THE POPULATION OF THE MOUNTAINOUS REGIONS OF DAGESTAN IN DEFENSIVE CONSTRUCTION DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR A.N. Alilov, M.M. Muradov, K.M. Alilova Based on archival materials and extensive scientific literature, against the background of complex historical events during the Great Patriotic War, the article shows the role of the peoples of Dagestan, which made a huge contribution to the victory over fascism in the rear. The authors show, using specific examples, how the war in the rear changed the habitual way of life of the mountain population of the republic. The war marked a turning point in the minds of the mountain population of Dagestan. Material and domestic hardships only brought closer confi dence in a common and final victory. The general attitude to victory became an important psychological factor in the life of ordinary Dagestanis in the rear.
