Vinogradov The article analyzes the political, socio-economic and demographic situation in Russia on the eve of the Great Russian Revolution. The assessment of the world situation at the beginning of the twentieth century is given. The nuances of the economic development of our state and advanced industrialized countries are compared. The inevitability and features of the 1917 revolution in Russia are outlined. The role of the subjective factor is described, in particular, Emperor Nicholas II, V.I. Lenin, P.A. Stolypin, S.Yu.
