Britain at the end of the XIXth – Beginning of the XXth Centuries |

materials during election campaigns to local and central authorities in the late XIX – early XX centuries. in the UK. Controversial
issues in historiography are raised related to the time of widespread use of printed materials in large-scale political agitation.
The variety of sources from which materials were received in the districts, as well as information material published locally,
is analyzed. It is considered how various types of election literature were put into effect and used in election campaigns in the
interests of attracting the electorate by various political forces. The method of interaction between local and national spheres
in this key aspect of the election battle is analyzed. The role of party agents in the press release is assessed. This experience is
interesting because it has been adopted by many European states, and the current trends largely correspond to the realities of
today.
