This article analyzes the history of road development and road construction of highways. With the help of an overview of the various features of highway construction, it becomes clear that its development had several important historical turns, which in turn formed the basis of its modern appearance. It is quite obvious that the history of road construction goes back centuries, and the study of socio-economic and scientifi c and technical processes makes it possible to understand and trace the evolution of road construction from forest trails to modern expressways.
