Universal History Annotation << Back Contribution of Partisans of the Leningrad Region to the Preparation and Conduct of the Leningrad-Novgorod Strategic Offensive Operation Shabelnik N.V. The relevance of the article is due to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The purpose of the scientific article is to show the contribution of the partisans to the complete lifting of the siege of Leningrad and the liberation of the temporarily occupied territory of the Leningrad region from the fascist invaders during the Leningrad-Novgorod strategic offensive operation (January 14 - March 1, 1944). The command of the Leningrad and Volkhov fronts for the fi rst time in the war involved partisans in joint combat operations with regular units of the Red Army. On the eve of the operation, the Military Councils of the fronts, together with the Leningrad Headquarters of the Partisan Movement (LShPD), developed operational plans for the deployment of combat activities of the partisans in cooperation with the advancing Soviet troops. The partisans were tasked with intensifying combat and reconnaissance activities in the enemy rear. To successfully complete this task, each detachment was assigned specific tasks and a combat zone. The partisans took an active part in the offensive battles to liberate the Leningrad region together with the troops of the Soviet army. According to archival documents, about 35 thousand partisans participated in the Leningrad-Novgorod operation as part of 13 partisan brigades operating in the German rear. For their contribution to providing assistance to regular military units of the Red Army in the Leningrad-Novgorod strategic offensive operation, the Leningrad partisans were awarded the banner of the Military Council of the Leningrad Front. The article was written on the basis of orders from the Leningrad headquarters of the partisan movement, the Military Councils of the Leningrad and Volkhov Fronts, reports, operational summaries, reports and other documents. The article is based on the principles of historicism and objectivity. When writing a scientific article, historical-chronological and analytical methods of scientific research were used.
