Universal History Annotation << Back Controversial issues of Russian America's concession Vinogradov A.A. This article is devoted to the problem of the cession of the North American possessions of the Russian Empire in favor of the United States in 1867. The article debunks some myths associated with the cession of Alaska. The circumstances of the transfer of the territory are revealed. The circle of persons who contributed to the cession is outlined. The objectivity of the arguments of the supporters of the cession of Russian possessions in North America is considered.
