Universal History Annotation << Back ON THE HISTORY OF ROBERT KLASSON AND GLEB KRZYRZANOVSKI, THE TWO MEAN INITIATORS OF THE HOME ELECTRIC POWER ENGINEERING V.V. Kuznetsova In 2011, 80th anniversary comes of completion with overfulfillment of the plan of State Electrification of Russia («GOELRO», 1921–1931). This plan resulted in rehabilitation of industry of the country, destroyed in the course of Civil War (1918–1922), and provided with energy the rapid process of industrialisation of the Soviet state which obtained the powerful united electroenergetic system. Two outstanding electric power egineers, Robert Classon and Gleb Krzyrzanovskii, were the key persons who layed the base and directed the proces of creation the material and technical base of the all-Russia network of thermo-electric and hydro-electric power stations. This essay treats some biographic fragments of these famous persons of scientific and technical history of Russia of the first half of XX centuary.
