Universal History Annotation << Back FIRST WAVE OF RUSSIAN SCIENTIFIC EMIGRATION: UNITY IN DIVERSITY R.A. Fando The article examines the emigration of Russian scientists in 1918–1940, which was called «emigration of the fi rst wave» in historical literature. Geography, structure, main directions of activity of foreign aid organizations to our compatriots are studied. It is shown that the scientifi c emigration of the post-revolutionary period was quite widespread in the countries of Europe and the United States of America and had a huge impact on the development of various branches of science and technology.
