Kokorina Archeology has come a long way - from the «story of the past» to modern science. Scientific archeology has developed a little more than two hundred years ago. As a science, it was interdisciplinary from the very beginning, that is, it used the methods of various sciences - natural, precise, humanitarian. Multidisciplinary knowledge involves the use of theories of other sciences for understanding archaeological materials. The article traces the way of applying theories of other fields of knowledge in national archeology, identifies the main trends of this process, analyzes the main works of scientists, which marked the transformation of archaeological knowledge into multidisciplinary. The conclusion is made about the high humanistic function of archeology, which has become the science of things from the science of things.
