NORTHERN CAUCASUS IN RUSSIA’S RELATIONS WITH IRAN AND TURKEY IN THE FIRST HALF. 40’S YY. XVIII CENTURY |

The article, based on archival material and scientifi c literature, against the background of complex historical events, shows the role of the peoples of the North Caucasus in Russia’s relations with Persia and Porte during the period under study. The authors reveal the peacekeeping component of Russian policy in the region using specific examples. In turn, according to the uthors, the heroic struggle of the peoples of Dagestan with Nadir Shah did not allow the latter to realize his plans of conquest in relation to the southern Russian borders.
