Universal History Annotation << Back RUSSIAN-IRANIAN RELATIONS OF THE NINETEENTH CENTURY: FROM WAR TO COOPERATION S.R. Chedzhemov The article explores Russian-Iranian relations in the nineteenth century on the materials of one of the subjects of the Russian Federation - the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. Ossetians living here belong to the Indo-European peoples. Organized humanitarian cooperation between the two countries promises to be extremely useful within the framework of the scientifi c dialogue between scientists of Iran and Russia. The author analyzes and organizes the history of Russian-Iranian relations. He refutes or clarifies the conclusions of Russian-Iranian relations, domestic and foreign scientists. It formulates its own conclusions, made on the basis of archival materials first introduced into scientific circulation. These are documents dedicated to the history of the Persian and Azerbaijani diaspora in the pre-revolutionary Vladikavkaz. The activities of the mosque and the Persian consulate. The article focuses on the military-strategic cooperation between Iran and Russia from war to strategic cooperation. It provided for the organization of certain military and political actions of Iran in favor of Russia. These are military expeditions of the Russian army to Iran in order to provide organizational assistance to the authorities in the creation of a national army of cossack type. The article concludes that the terms of the Turkmanchai peace treaty between Russia and Iran in 1828 have not been revised much to the present day. The different governments of both countries and in different historical circumstances were satisfied with them. This clearly shows that both countries in the nineteenth century managed to achieve a mutually benefi cial formula of bilateral relations. The visit in May 1873 to Russia of Nasser al-Din Shah Kajar, who ruled in 1848–1896 and his negotiations with Emperor Alexander II, in fact, marked the allied relations between Iran and Russia.
