Universal History Annotation << Back MONGOL CAMPAIGN IN EASTERN AND CENTRAL EUROPE S.R. Iskendirov In the era of the Mongol conquests, the Western campaign to Europe was the largest of those realized, both in terms of the number of soldiers and the number of Chingizids – the descendants of Genghis Khan. It is noteworthy that the third generation, the grandchildren of Genghis Khan, took part among the Chingizids. The purpose of the article is to consider and study the topic of the conquest of Russia and Eastern Europe. Materials and methods. The author relies on historical sources written by medieval authors and modern research. Results. As a result of the study, a description is given of the main points of the military campaign, as well as the results of the expansion of the Jochi Ulus and the seizure of new territories.
