Universal History Annotation << Back THE FATE OF COMMANDING STAFF OF 98-th RIFLE DIVISION AFTER SEVERE FIGHTS IN JULY 1941 D.V. Perevoshchikov The article deals with the issue about fighting life of officers of 98-th rifle division. The servicemen of this subunit in July of 1941 carry on a struggle against German forces that had overwhelming superiority in soldiers and military technique. The fates of many the commanders are vague so far. The paper partly solves this problem, throws a light on theirs fighting biography. The data about officers of the division who were taken prisoner are adduced in the article for the first time in a historiography. The article contains information about commanders who went out from hostile encirclement and got in disposition of regular subunits of Red Army or join to partisan detachments. The research carries a contribution in liquidation of a «white spot» in history of the Great Patriotic war.
