Universal History Annotation << Back SOME FEATURES OF IMPROVING THE GENERAL EDUCATION LEVEL OF OFFICERS IN THE TROOPS NKVD-MVD USSR IN 1940–1950 S.A. Oleinik The article discusses issues related to the improvement of the general educational, general cultural level of officer cadres of the NKVD troops-the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR. In scientific literature, mass media, in many films, and other works of fiction, the image of the workers of these structures is shown one-sidedly-negatively, often relying only on data on the repressions of the prewar years (and, as practice shows, their critical understanding is not always reliable). But it does not take into account what kind of people they were, the nature of their professional, general cultural training, which causes a natural scientific and practical interest.
