Universal History Annotation << Back COTTON GIN INDUSTRY OF THE TRANSCAUCASIAN REGION AT THE TURN OF THE XIX–XX CENTURIES A.M. Ismailova The article is devoted to the creation of the cotton gin industry in the Transcaucasian region at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries. The article analyzes the process of origin, development and formation of the cotton gin industry in this region. The dynamics and stages of folding of the cotton gin industry are traced. Particular importance is given to the analysis of the development of commodity production, the construction of cotton factories producing new products from cotton seeds. Considerable attention is given to entrepreneurs creating this industry. The article presents significant information about the development of cotton growing in agriculture, which directly contributed to the development of the cotton gin industry. The author comes to the conclusion that by the beginning of the XX century the industrial revolution in the cotton gin industry was completed and this industry became an advanced branch of the Russian textile industry.
