Universal History Annotation << Back THE ACTIVITIES OF PARTISANS ON THE TERRITORY OF THE LENINGRAD REGION DURING THE PREPARATION AND CONDUCT OF THE OPERATION «ISKRA» N.V. Shabelnik The relevance of the topic of the article is due to the 70th anniversary of the offensive operation «Iskra», which was carried out in January 1943 in order to break the blockade of Leningrad. Active participation in the preparations for and conduct of the military operation to unblock the city was played by partisans operating on the territory of the Leningrad Region. In the article, the author examines the activities of partisan brigades, detachments, sabotage groups operating behind enemy lines, as well as in the zone of the North-Western, Volkhov and Leningrad fronts in the period from mid-1942 to February 1943. The article shows the contribution of partisans to the successful implementation of operations to break the blockade ring. The author describes the difficulties and problems in the organization and implementation of the partisan war in the region, which had to be overcome by the leadership of the partisan movement and partisan formations.
