Universal History Annotation << Back The History of Bridge Construction and Their Role in the Socio-Economic Development of Dagestan in the Second Half of the XIX and Early XX Centuries Sultanakhmedov M.A., Murtuzov M.M., Abdullaev A.R. The article examines the least known stages of bridge construction from the second half of the nineteenth century to the twentieth century, based on familiarization and study of archival data and materials published in periodicals. The work of engineers who were engaged in the construction of bridges during the study period was also studied. The enormous infl uence of the bridges under construction on the economic development of Dagestan is revealed. It shows the development of trade relations between the region and neighboring regions of the Caucasus, as well as the impact of transport infrastructure on the development of agriculture and industry in Dagestan.
