Based on archival sources, periodicals and scientific literature, the article examines the problems of organizing the operation of truck transport in the Republic of Dagestan in the 70s of the last century. The specifics of the work of the republic's truck transport are considered in close connection with the peculiarities of the socio-economic development of the country during the period under study. The article highlights the environmental problems created by modern motorization.
