Universal History Annotation << Back History of Management Science: Mathematical Theories of Management as Decision-Making Tools Rusyaeva E.Y., Akhobadze G.N., Poltavsky A.V. The history of the formation and development of the science of control is presented, the branch of which has become cybernetics, mathematical theories of control, and artificial intelligence (AI, AI). By AI we will understand in a broad sense the scientific direction, where the tasks of studying and modeling intellectual types of human activity are set and gradually presented by hardware or software solutions. If initially the science of management arose from problems of an applied nature, the need for scientifi c solutions to production problems, then gradually the share of studies of a purely mathematical, theoretical plan began to grow. Moreover, it is now worth distinguishing between the concepts of control (control - mathematical theories of control) and management (economic, social research). It is shown that in this interweaving of scientific schools and directions it is worth distinguishing: cybernetics and the AI isolated from it; mathematical control theories (control science), where game theory has become a mathematical tool for both organizational and most economic theories; management (as practice) and theoretical management (management science) as science; operations research (IO, operations research), mechanism design and other areas. It is indicated that now mathematical tools are created and serve to support decision-making by people, agents of organizational, socio-economic systems.
