"Motor Race": About the First Car Race in Czarist Russia |
Dadilov A.S., Abakarov A.A., Idrisova S.G., Muradaliev Z.Z.
When Russia first encountered "motors" (as cars and motorcycles were called back in the 1990s) in the early 1990s, many people
did not believe in them, considering them to be a curious mechanical toy at best. Only speed competitions could dispel these prejudices,
demonstrate the rich potential of "motors," and prove their practicality. It is even more surprising that it was during this period, in
Tsarist Russia under Tsar Nicholas II, that the basic rules of automobile racing competitions began to emerge and various types of
automobile racing began to appear, which are still in use today.
The article provides an analysis of the factors that influenced the organization and conduct of the first race of self-propelled trolleys
with engines in Tsarist Russia, the design features of the vehicles involved in the race, the requirements for participants in accordance
with the Racing Rules, and the final results.
Keywords: motor race, horse-drawn vehicle, vehicle, engine, three-wheeled carriage, tricycle, racing rules.
