Universal History Annotation << Back WHAT DID VIRGIN LANDS GIVE TO STUDENTS?! S.K. Kovaleva «Men of sixties» means the new mode of life, attitude born by the epoch change. There were the modest attempts to feel sense of person. “Men of sixties” absorbed the ideals of “thaw”, they gained ambitions to realize themselves. One of these events is birth of Student Construction Brigades (SCB). They appeared as reaction to total veto, to the person suppression .For the most participants of SCB the work became the labor school, the school of collective self-government. Taking part in SCB was not an exploit. It was an event that couldn’t be forgotten for more than 50 years. Key words: building brigades (SSB), virgin lands, students, self-government.
